HED successfully developed China’s first touchable smart card (CPU) chip on its own IPR on March 1997. Currently, it has formed two series of smart card chip products, namely CIU91 and CIU92 on the basis of 8-bit CPU core that were developed independently. With different products of EEPROM data storage capacity, these two series of smart card chip products can individualize designing according to customers’ requirements and needs.

With the extensive application of Internet, data security has attracted more and more attention. According to practical application needs, HED developed a series of smart card chips whose IP core can accord with national appoint algorithm. At the same time, these chips also support RSA algorithm and DES algorithm, and are applicable to IC card with digital signature function, USB KEY, SIM card etc.

HED also accumulated abundant experience in contactless IC card area. It developed contactless card chip with ferroelectric memory, China’s second generation citizen ID card chip, dual interface card chip on the basis of ISO/IEC 14443 Type B standard and contactless card chip on the basis of ISO/IEC 14443 Type A standard etc. successively. Of all things, China’s second generation citizen ID card chip was the earliest to pass the production approval inspection of Public Security Department. And in 2004, Huada Electronic began to supply the chip modules.
